Recommend a Heater for a small room in garage?
What kind of heater should I use to heat a 6′ x 6′ insulated room in my garage? I built this room to house the washer/dryer. Can anyone recommend an electric heater? I don’t need it toasty warm. Just warm enough to keep the pipes from freezing.
I really like these radiant panels – they don’t cost a lot, they make you feel warm even when the room is cold, they’re reasonably easy to install.

Check the store like Lowes or HD.
if you have done that check a second hand stores like builder’s surplus, near you (you should be able to get something for about $20)
still not cheap enough leave it open
Unpermitted Garage Conversion Found During a Charlotte Home Inspection
http://www.homeinspectioncarolina.com While at a home in Charlotte, NC Patrick Waddell finds what is most likely an unpermitted garage conversion. Often when people need more living space they convert a one or two car garage into heat / cooled living area. The problem is that becuase they can do all the work inside out of site, they never pull permits 95% of the time. This home was listed as a 4 bedroom house and the garage was being included as a bedroom. Here were some of the problems: You can not have a gas fired appliance in a bedroom. Even if the room is not a bedroom in order for the “new room” to heat and cool properly it must have a return vent (air filter) for the room to circulate the air properly. Problem…you can’t have a gas fired appliance in the same room as a return. Several fixes can be making a sealed room for the water heater or changing it out for an electric water heater. The water heater in this home was disconnected, had flame rool out from lack of oxygen in the closet and several other items. The electrical in the room was also questionable. Can a 1500w electric heater heat up a 2 car garage?
I am trying to heat my 2 car garage for my son’s birthday party. It will be approx. 40 degress fahrenheit outside. The garage is insulated and I will have an area rug covering the entire floor. I am planning to use 2 1500w electric heaters with fans. Do you think this will heat up the garage enough?
Probably will work if the garage is insulated as you say and you will have people in there too this helps. I would give them time to heat up well before the party though. I would be concerned that you can run two 1500 watt heaters in the garage that is 3000 watts of power and wonder if you have that kind of circuitry in the garage. If you just have 15 amp breakers two will always trip a single circuit.
Each one of these should be on a separate circuit if you have this capability.

Where can I buy a tubular 80-100watt garage /utility heater ?
I saw them in Argos for £30 but as I have 4 spaces I need to heat to stop frosting that’s quite a lot of money. Does anyone know of a cheaper supplier. Thanks.
D>D> Try the garden centres, cos they are used for heating greenhouses
Is it safe to run a kerosene heater in a garage overnight?
I’m looking for ways to keep my garage warm for first thing in the morning, and wondered if it was safe to leave one of these unattended for that long?
Nope. There is a propane heater rated for indoor use though. See the link below.

Any advice on heating an uninsulated garage with a space heater for a party in cold conditions?
Looking to heat my garage for a party for new years. Three of the walls are insulated, but the garage door and the roof is not. Outside temps are around 10 degree F. Any advice on how I can heat the garage? I just need it heated for the night.
Patio heaters. Make sure you have fresh air with it. They run on propane in bottles and heat about a 20 foot circle so people will huddle under them if cold like brooding chickens.
There are industrial heaters that blow heat try renting heaters the rental store will have ideas.
is a 1.2kw ocsilating halogen heater enough to heat a garage room thats 19’9” long and 7’11” wide.
the garage room isn’t insulated at all and the heaters aren’t working so we need a portable heater and were wondering if a 1.2kw halogen heater is enough? thanks in advance
I am going to give you some scientific advice for FREE
Halogen heaters emit infra red radiation which is converted into ordinary heat when they hit human skin, i,e, they are for heating humans by direct line of sight ( EVEN ON THE OTHER SIDE OF A PIECE OF GLASS)
They are NOT designed to heat air.
If it is your desire to heat the air you require a CONVECTOR type of heater which is specifically designed to heat the air as it passes over the elements.
In answer to your question the answer is NO WAY JOSE
Get the area insulated first.
